How I see It

 I have select three of my fellow students’ blogs to review. The three that I chose are Kenny, Brigitte, and Annette.  Below are my comments that I left on each of the Blogs. I provided feedback regarding their purpose, design, content, and audience as I saw it.

Kenny as per this week’s discussion question I have reviewed this post and below is my feedback regarding purpose, design, content, and audience.  No part of this feedback is meant to disrespect the hard work that you placed into creating this blog.  Please enjoy my feedback.

Purpose-The purpose of your blog post was to deliver bad news tactfully and effectively.  As I read through you post I believe that you have met the purpose of your blog post.  Within the post you addressed methods that I believe to be effective and tactful.

Content- I think that you met your purpose in this blog because you have used methods that I believe to be tactful and effective.  Allow me to point out how I think that you are tactful in your approach.  The first step that you took in your suggestion was to stop and think.  This prevent allows you to think out what you will say without just flying off the cuff.  When we just go off the cuff we are going off emotions and this leads to the strong possibility of disrespect.  You also took time to gather information about the situation showing the person that you care enough to understand where they are coming from. It is through this process I believe that you demonstrate your effectiveness.  You give the employee no out or misinterpretation of what it is that you are aware of.  The one thing that I would say about your method is that you stated that “A manager must give the employee a chance to develop a solution to the problem.”  I agree with one caveat, I would say that as a manager it is important to develop this solution with the employee.  Not to say that you as the manager are giving any solutions, but you are giving by-in to the employee’s solutions.  This lets them know that you are with them all the way.

Audience- I think that your target audience with this post is managers and anyone that has aspirations to manage others.

Conclusion- This post is very well written it flows very well and I found it easy to follow your steps.  I think that your method can resolve organizational conflicts in a tactful and effective manner.  Great post classmate

Purpose- In this blog post you are addressing the difficulties of intercultural communication.  I think that your purpose in writing this blog was to inform the reader of how with patients and a willingness to communicate people can overcome their intercultural differences and communicate effectively.  The overarching purpose to this blog is to show the reader that understanding the as much as you can about the culture of the person that you are communicating with will aide in this communication process.

Content- In this blog you walk the reader through your adventure in selling real estate to a physician and her husband who are from Grenada and Haiti prospectively.  You break down the communication issue that you have with the husband, and how it affected the sale of the home.  Throughout this blog you show that you have gained knowledge of the couple’s culture.  You also show the time and effort that you placed into the selling of the real estate (congratulations on that).  The one thing that I would suggest that you should have done with this blog post was tie in how your knowledge of their culture aided in sale of the property. 

Audience- I think that your target audience is people who deal with intercultural communication regularly. 

Conclusion- Reading your experience with that couple was informative and entertaining at the same time.  I think that you were able to paint the picture of who the people were and who you were at the time.  Your blog post is great classmate.

Annette as per this week’s discussion question I have reviewed this post and below is my feedback regarding purpose, design, content, and audience.  No part of this feedback is meant to disrespect the hard work that you placed into creating this blog.  Please enjoy my feedback.

Purpose- As I see it the purpose of this blog was to inform the reader of the history and development of the Radio, Television, Books, and Cell Phones.  Your selection of these technologies is great and they are things that everyone is familiar with.

Content- You walk the reader through the invention of each of these technologies and then you interject your own personnel stories into the observation of each of these technologies (I still listen to sports on my Sirius Radio). I think that you are very affective when it comes to transitioning from the historical background of these technologies into your own personal experience with each.  The one minor change that I would suggest is that when you go into your personal stories just begin a new paragraph. As I read through it I did not notice this because it flowed so well.

Audience- I think that your target audience was anyone that wants to know a quick breakdown of their favorite technologies and how you view them.  Great post classmate.
